Meet the Founders

Speakship was founded on the belief that the right words, delivered with presence and purpose, can shift how people think, feel, and act. Founders Mishika Kochar and Dhananjay Choudhry reflect on what it means to curate conversations that matter - and why, in a noisy world, curation still makes all the difference.
What was the intent behind starting Speakship?
Mishika: Over the years, I've had the opportunity to curate speakers for some of the world's leading organizations and events. One thing became very clear to me: when chosen with care, the right voice at the right time can shift how a room thinks, feels, and acts. But too often, this process was being treated as functional, not intentional. We wanted to create a place where curation was a craft. Where clients could trust that we were thinking not just about who is available, but about who will make the conversation land in a meaningful way. That's why we started Speakship.
How do you describe Speakship today?
Dhananjay: At its core, Speakship is a modern speaker bureau, but we think of ourselves as a partner in knowledge sharing. We represent thinkers, leaders, and subject matter experts across business, technology, culture, and world affairs. Our role is to help clients design the right conversation for the audience and moment - not simply provide access to speakers. We treat that responsibility with great care. And that's not all, our work spans across speaking engagements, brand collaborations, creating original content, and facilitating learning experiences, leading to an ecosystem of knowledge sharing.
What makes a great speaker curation?
Mishika: It starts with listening, really listening. To the client, to the brief, to the audience they are trying to reach. A great speaker isn't just a name or a profile. It's someone whose perspective, presence, and voice will resonate with the audience in that specific context. We spend time thinking about tone, timing, and relevance, not just expertise. Sometimes the best fit is someone globally recognized. Sometimes it's a brilliant voice that has yet to reach wider attention. We are not here to chase headlines - we are here to create moments that move people.
What do you think clients value about Speakship?
Dhananjay: They trust us to bring both breadth and depth to the process. We have a strong global network, from highly recognizable names to deeply respected subject matter experts. But beyond the network, it's our curation that clients value. We don't pitch for volume. We think carefully about fit, about what will create the experience they want their audience to have. Clients also appreciate that we're constantly tracking the cultural moment; what conversations are emerging, what ideas are shaping the world. That helps us bring relevance to every engagement.
Beyond speaking engagements, where do you see Speakship evolving?
Mishika: Our larger mission is to be a vehicle for knowledge sharing. Speaking engagements is a very important part of that, but not the only part. We are already building toward a more multi-dimensional platform: creating original content, developing learning communities, and offering knowledge resources through various channels. Ultimately, we want to contribute meaningfully to how individuals, organizations, and communities access the knowledge and ideas that help them grow.
What guides your work at Speakship?
Mishika: For me, it always comes back to one idea: words carry change. Every piece of work we do - whether it's recommending a speaker or helping shape a larger experience - is in service of that belief. We approach curation as a craft. We take time to understand our clients and our speakers. And we build relationships that we hope will last, not just for one event, but over time. If we can help great ideas travel well and land in the rooms where they can make a difference, then we're doing what we set out to do.
“Our role is to help great ideas travel well — and land where they matter most.”
