Dr. Naresh Trehan is a world-renowned Cardiovascular and Cardiothoracic Surgeon and a leading visionary in the Indian healthcare industry. He is the Chairman & Managing Director of Medanta-The Medicity, a 1,500-bedded multi-super specialty institute that offers cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art treatment facilities. His career is distinguished by successfully completing over 48,000 open heart surgeries and pioneering the concept of modern, large-scale private healthcare in India.
Trained and practiced at the New York University Medical Center, Manhattan, USA, where he obtained Diplomats from the American Boards of Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. Trehan brought this international expertise back to India. He was the founder, executive director, and chief surgeon of the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre (1987–2007), a transformative venture that paved the way for modern cardiac care in the country.
