Arunima Sinha is a monumental figure of resilience, a former national level volleyball player, and the first female amputee to successfully climb Mount Everest. Her life story is one of extraordinary determination, beginning with the tragic 2011 incident where she was thrown from a moving train, resulting in a below-the-knee amputation. While still recovering, she made the audacious resolution to conquer the world’s highest peak.
Just two years after her amputation, Sinha achieved her seemingly impossible goal, reaching the summit of Mt. Everest on May 21, 2013, after a grueling 52-day journey. This historic accomplishment cemented her status as a global icon of perseverance. Since then, she has set her sights on conquering all seven of the world’s highest summits, having already scaled Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Elbrus, and Mt Kosciuszko.
Sinha is deeply dedicated to social welfare and leveraging her journey to empower others. She is actively working on opening a free sports academy for poor and differently-abled people, focusing on helping physically challenged individuals achieve self-dependence and their own ambitious goals. This commitment to philanthropy reflects her core belief in the transformative power of sport and the human spirit.
As an inspirational speaker, Arunima Sinha shares her extraordinary story of resilience and her never-say-die attitude. Her presentations are powerful calls to action, motivating audiences to push their limits, overcome any challenge, and realize their own potential, regardless of external circumstances or perceived limitations.
