Guneet Monga is an internationally acclaimed Indian film producer and entrepreneur who achieved global fame after her production, Period. End of Sentence., won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject in 2018. She is the founder of Sikhya Entertainment, a boutique production house known for backing artistically and commercially successful independent films.
Monga is recognized as a leader and innovator in the film industry, having been voted as one of the top 12 women achievers in the Global Entertainment industry by The Hollywood Reporter and featured in Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report 2018. Her production company has produced notable, critically acclaimed films like The Lunchbox, Masaan, and Gangs of Wasseypur. Her career highlights innovative approaches to film financing and distribution. She successfully raised nearly ₹10 million (US$140,000) for her film Peddlers (2012) by posting the script on Facebook.
