Piyush Pandey is a towering figure in global advertising, a visionary who served as the Chief Creative Officer Worldwide and Executive Chairman India of Ogilvy. He is widely celebrated for being the architect of a distinct indigenous influence on Indian advertising, successfully shifting the industry from Westernized concepts to narratives deeply rooted in Indian culture, language, and emotion.
Pandey's 40-year tenure at Ogilvy saw the agency rise to become the largest advertising agency in India and one of the most creative offices in the Ogilvy worldwide network. His campaigns, such as those for Fevicol, Cadbury, and Asian Paints, are embedded in India’s cultural consciousness. His leadership earned Ogilvy India the #1 Agency ranking for 12 consecutive years and led to him becoming the first jury President from Asia for the Cannes Lions Festival in 2004.
His revolutionary creative genius has been recognized globally: he is a triple Grand Prize winner at the London International Awards and, alongside his brother, won the Lion of St. Mark at Cannes in 2018 for lifetime achievement. He is a highly decorated leader, a recipient of the Padma Shri (2016) and the LIA Legend Award (2024). In January 2024, he transitioned from the Executive Chairman role to become Chief Advisor at Ogilvy, focusing on preserving the creative legacy and mentoring the next generation.
As a highly sought-after speaker and mentor at institutions like the Berlin School of Creative Leadership, Pandey translates his vast experience into lessons on creativity, strategy, and brand transformation. His presentations, which often draw on his belief in using advertising to drive social change (such as the Polio Abhiyaan campaign), offer audiences an inimitable perspective on the power of honesty, spontaneity, and creative intuition to build enduring brand value.
